The Battle of the Alamo took place at the Alamo in San Antonio, Texas in February and March 1836. The 13-day battle started Tuesday, February 23, 1836, and ended Sunday, March 6, 1836, with the capture of the mission and the death of nearly all the defenders. As a result of this battle, the the Mexican Army was stalled allowing Sam Houston to gather troops and supplies for his later success at the Battle of San Jacinto.I visited San Antonio about a year ago and just had to visit the Alamo.
